There comes a time when a woman gets tired of her own bullshit. For me, that day is today.
I’ve been posing as someone I’m not; in my business and in life.
The image I’ve been trying to project is of a polished, professional, refined kinda woman, and it feels fake, like the pleather pants I recently bought.
I dilute my messages, so I don’t offend anyone.
I skirt around the truth because I’m scared you don’t want to hear it and won’t like me or work with me.
I try to make sure I don’t piss off the social media Gods with boring content that really doesn’t do you an ounce of good, but ensures I’m not shut down.
I make sure I have my makeup on, and hair done for every video because that’s what professional women with successful businesses do…even though I prefer zero makeup, and unwashed hair with a hefty dose of sweat and dirt to keep the curls looking wild.
I run everything through the lens of being on brand…..a fake brand like the amazing Gucci bag I bought in a back alley in NY before they shut that little black market down. Those were the good ole days.
I’m basically protecting myself from the messages I was told as a little girl when I’d speak my boldest, honest, most authentic truth.
The message of don’t say that, you’re too much, you’re too icy, you’re too direct, too loud, too not feminine (excuse the grammar), too alternative, too……so many things.
And those overt and covert words hurt.
So, I snuffed them out.
But today something shifted. Probably due to an amazing energy-clearing session with my spiritual advisor. Today I’ve decided I’m over it.
I’m over playing it safe.
I’m over pretending to be someone I’m not.
I’m over perfectly curating my words.
I’m over stifling my voice.
I’m over wearing business casual.
I’m over being a poser.
I’m over my own bullshit.
Here’s who I really am.
A backwoods girl who grew up drinking beer, shooting guns, riding snowmobiles, driving the John Deer to the local gas station for Doritos – cool ranch of course, riding my horse to sleepovers (pre-drivers license), and cussing like a trucker.
I’ve been known to chew, smoke, do keg stands, and dance on the bar.
I can change the oil in a car and fix most things around the house.
I played rugby in college and loved being wild on the pitch tackling, throwing a punch, raking an inner thigh, and drinking friendly beers after with the competition.
I’m always one step behind the latest fashion trends and would rather be in old, baggy jeans and a tank top anyway.
I love the woo! Crystals, rocks, sage, astrology, spirits, angels, guides, meditation, energy work, bring it all on! The more “woo” the better! (thank you aunt Bev for introducing me to this at a very early age)
My natural tendency is to state the obvious, usually without much couth – but that’s been shamed out of me over the years due to “making people uncomfortable”. Don’t worry, it’s coming back and everyone who is offended can hit unsubscribe…no offense taken, I’m not for everyone.
Being in the woods, camping under the stars, and being dirty and sweaty soothes my soul.
I cheated my way through 8th-grade grammer (kidding, I know it’s spelled grammar) and I pay for it to this day.
I am beyond tired of the patriarchy, suppression, discrimination, inequality, misogyny, sexism, sizeism, bropropriating, mansplaining, manterrupting, manspreading, fatmisia, mommy tax, the pink tax, all tax….and women tolerating it.
I love vegetables. Seriously. Which is probably a good thing since I’m a nutritionist.
I also love my body. Believe it or not, I am a woman who has a deep appreciation for what this body has done and will continue to do for the rest of my life… This body and I have had a lot of fun, which is why I plan to live until 113 when I die in my sleep on my vineyard/ranch in Maui with chickens, horses, goats, cats, and a Great Dane.
I have two amazing children and many times wish I was a better mom and could do it all over again…which I plan to do in my next life.
I love big hair 80’s bands, especially Guns N’ Roses, and am a closet Neil Diamond fan.
I’m a sucker for RomComs and have watched The Proposal more times than I’d like to admit.
I am a woman who wants to change the world FOR women, and the next generation of women, and the next.
And from now on, I plan to stir the pot and wake women up to their potential using my gifts as a nutritionist, life coach, feminist, and holistic health expert.
No more playing it safe for this girl.
The muzzle’s off.
I’m turning up the volume.
I’m growing out my armpit hair…wait, that was 1989 and it didn’t go well, scratch that.
If you are a woman who is sick of her own bullshit and playing it safe, being the good girl, doing it all with a fucking smile and you want off the hamster wheel, I’d love to help you.
Let’s start by losing some weight so you feel fierce in your body again.
Then we’ll work on your health like your hormones, digestion, autoimmune disease, or whatever else is making you feel weighed down.
And finally, we will knock down the walls that have trapped you in the cycle of overdoing, over-sacrificing, undervaluing, and underprioritizing yourself, which contributed to your weight gain, so you can LIVE LIFE fully in a body you love.
If you want to work with the REAL me on this, let’s start on January 2nd.
Nutritionist. Life Coach. Feral Woman.
